Well, here we are. We're here. We were there, though. When? This past weekend. We were in three different states of thereness (four states of the United type, including drive-bys):
Winston-Salem, NC, where we visited Reid's family and gorged ourselves on a delicious meal and let ourselves be quiet, grown up and domestic for a few hours.
Athens, GA, where we played at the Athens/HHBTM popfest, drank cheap beer and had a grand old time. Athens rules, not just because it's a cool place with all sorts of fun people who like to stay out late, but because that town never, ever lets you forget you're in the South. Our time at the popfest was good, as we were aided by the aforementioned cheap, cheap, cheap beer. And then all the bands after us awed us. The Sunshine Fix, The Minders and Bunnygrunt absolutely amazed. Well worth the drive.
Chapel Hill, NC, where we visited the legendary Pepper's Pizza and then went to Local 506 to see the Smittens, Lil' Hospital, the Maybellines and Rocketfire Red, which was a damn right amount of fun.
To quote ourselves: good times.
Then we played DC9 with the sweet Smittens (aforementioned like the beer), the hot Fur Cups for Teeth and the fun Boyracer. We rocked it pretty hard, if we don't say so ourselves. Like, people might have been hurt by the hard rocking. If anyone was, we're sorry. But we can't help it.
And now we're exhausted, so we'll be laying low for a few weeks, but we still have exciting news coming up, so brace yourselves. Yes, yes, we know that we've been saying that for a while now, but seriously. Right around the corner, babe.
